First residential charge spots installed in Canberra
Having received the first Mitsubishi i-MiEV in Canberra and installed the first commercial electric vehicle charge spot at the Belconnen Fresh Food Markets, Rock Development Group can now add the first residential charge point to it’s credentials.
Director of the Rock Development Group Maria Efkarpidis and Canberra TransACT Capitals Captain Jessica Bibby had charge spots installed in their homes this week. Jess' charge spot was kindly donated by the team at Better Place Australia, who are aiming to roll out electric vehicle infrastructure across Australia.
The Rock Development Group is leasing three Mitsubishi i-MiEV’s, one has been donated to the ACT Electric Vehicle Council, one is used by Jess Bibby to travel between schools delivering the Healthy Hoops 4 Active Kids program and the last is used by the Directors at the Rock Development Group.
Maria Efkarpidis said the installation brings electric vehicle infrastructure one step closer to widespread adoption.
“We want to make clean technologies such as electric vehicles more accessible to Canberrans. They are really easy to use and have a great benefit to the environment.”
